Friday marked the retirement (and birthday!) of one of Eastwood Consulting Engineers’ longest-serving colleagues, former Managing Director Steve Ellis and what a journey it has been.

Steve joined Eastwood back in 1984 as a Graduate Engineer and, through nearly four decades of dedication, expertise and steady leadership, worked his way up to become a Director in 2007 and Managing Director in 2023. His career is a textbook example of progression through commitment, and a genuine passion for engineering.
Best known for his work in the water industry, Steve has played a key role in delivering civil and structural engineering solutions for water and sewage treatment works across the UK. Beyond water, Steve’s experience spans steel and concrete structures of all kinds from surveying, repairing and modifying existing assets to designing new silos and conveyor structures always with practical insight and technical excellence.
Alongside his project work, Steve has been a valued mentor to generations of younger engineers, generously sharing his knowledge and helping to shape the next wave of talent at Eastwood.
On Friday, we had the pleasure of celebrating Steve’s achievements alongside old and current colleagues at our combined retirement and post-Christmas bash - aptly named the Yule Be Missed Staff Party.
We thank Steve for his outstanding contribution to Eastwood Consulting Engineers and wish him every happiness in his well-earned retirement. We suspect his days will now be filled with walking and hiking alongside his Patterdale Terrier and King Charles Spaniel, plenty of fresh air and, of course, keeping busy with grandparent duties.
