The Montgomery Theatre, one of Sheffield’s leading arts centres for children and the community and the performing home to a host of theatre companies, schools and dance schools has seen multiple generations ‘treading the boards’ in its 420-seat theatre for decades.
With funding from the Future High St Fund and the Youth Investment Fund, the historic venue is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, and Eastwood are humbled to be part of the team helping bring the iconic building firmly into the 21st Century.

The lack of disabled access at this stair-heavy venue is one of the many issues addressed by the refurbishment and the installation of lifts will mean the theatre is accessible to a broader audience. The venue will also benefit from a new frontage together with improvements to the internal layout which will see the building used to its full potential.
“The refurbishment will help future-proof this stunning historic theatre for generations to come, creating an accessible and inviting venue” Rebecca Neal, Structural Engineer, Eastwood Consulting Engineers.
